Bob Arum, with his Top Rank company, has been at the top of the boxing promotion business for decades. He signed a contract with Tyson Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs) for a joint promotion, and the WBC heavyweight champion fought five fights for him and Frank Warren.
The "King of the Gypsies" continues to swear that he has retired, but his representatives contacted Derek Chisora's team, probing the topic of a possible meeting in December. Meanwhile, Arum would immediately like to offer Fury a full unification of the titles in the royal weight class.
Tyson sits on the WBC throne, and the three remaining IBF, WBA and WBO belts belong to Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs). In twelve days, the Ukrainian will have a rematch with Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) in Saudi Arabia. If he wins again, he can cross gloves with Fury in the next fight.
“I hope Usyk wins this rematch because I have already spoken to his team and as far as I can see they would like to fight Fury. I think everything will turn out as planned, because Usyk is more talented than Joshua and faster than him. I would like to see Usyk and Fury fight for the title of absolute world heavyweight champion. I hope we can do this in December or early next year,” Arum said.
