Saturday duel between Virgil Ortiz Jr. (18-0, 18 KOs) and Michael Mackinson (22-0, 2 KOs) will become the final eliminator for the WBA welterweight world title. Boxers will cross their gloves at a Golden Boy Promotions boxing event in Fort Worth, Texas.

The winner of the fight will become the official contender for the World Boxing Association belt, but it is not yet known which one. Errol Spence Jr. is the full-weight champion in this weight category, while the regular title is in the hands of Eimantas Stanionis.

Thus, Ortiz will hold his first fight after a year-long break. McKinson's last fight took place in March.
