Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) and his team did and are doing everything possible to prepare as best as possible for the rematch with Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs). A team of eight sparring partners was formed, including three brand new characters in the Englishman's camp.
The other five were brought in last year by the former two-time world heavyweight champion. On August 20, in Saudi Arabia, Joshua will have the opportunity to regain the IBF, WBA and WBO championship belts.
Three newcomers - Agron Smakichi (19-1, 17 KOs) and two promising and young Olympians - Adedeji Adegbola and Isaac Okoh. Five other sparring partners helped Joshua before the first fight. These are Shokran Parvani (17-1, 13 KOs), Thomas Carty (3-0, 2 KOs), Demsi McKean (21-0, 13 KOs), experienced amateur Danis Latypov (1-0, 1 KOs) and the Croatian hope for another Olympic medal by Marco Milun.
Less is known about Usyka’s preparation, although his team has already received information about three strong sparring partners: Martin Bakole (18-1, 13 KOs), Alexander Zakhozhiy (17-0, 13 KOs) and Nursultan Amanzholov (4-0, 3 KO).
