Isaac Chamberlain (14-2, 8 KOs) reported on social networks that in the third round of the fight with Chris Billam-Smith (16-1, 11 KOs) suffered a zygomatic bone fracture. Their duel became the main event of the Saturday night of boxing in British Bournemouth.
Chamberlain, 28, returned to the ring last September after a year-long hiatus and is now facing another long hiatus from professional boxing. The Englishman will be able to hold the next fight no earlier than at the beginning of next year.
The bet of Saturday's fight was the European heavyweight title. Billam-Smith, the holder of this title, does not currently have a contract with any promoter.
