Eddie Hearn reported that the first fight between Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) sold 700,000 pay-per-view broadcasts in the UK. The rematch will take place on August 20 in Saudi Arabia, and will also be shown in the UK for an additional fee.
Ultimately, Sky Sports received the UK broadcast rights. Hearn predicts that the result of the second fight will surpass last year's fight in sales. At stake in the meeting will be WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight championship belts.
Joshua recently signed a multi-year deal with streaming service DAZN, but it won't include a rematch with Usyk. Only from the next show, all fights involving Joshua will take place on this platform.
