Hearn: When Joshua beats Usyk, I'll act like a clown

Anthony Joshua and Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn makes no apologies for letting his emotions get the best of him in tournaments when his boxers achieve thrilling victories. The head of Matchroom Boxing recently spoke about his famous stunt in May ...

Froch's fifth-round stoppage forced Hearn to lunge somewhat clumsily from his seat into the ring and lunge at his newly crowned fighter.

Hearn acknowledged that this behavior is not entirely appropriate, but stressed that since he has developed close friendships with many of his boxers, such a reaction is to be expected.

Almost 10 years later, Hearn expects him to do the same on August 20 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, when his protégé Anthony Joshua will try to take back his WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles from Oleksandr Usyk in their revenge.

“It was very emotional when you think about Carl Froch,” Hearn told BBC 5 Live Boxing. - You all remember how I jumped around the ring. This happens when you have friendly relations with these guys. I remember driving to Carl Froch's house, when I had no idea what I was doing, worried, hoping that he would sign the contract. And in the course of his career, when he defeated Bute, emotions took over.

“It's the same with this fight. When AJ beats Usyk, I might go crazy. He is my friend. We don't have to talk to him every day, but we have a lot in common over the course of his career. He trusted us with his entire career. When he wins this fight, I will act like a real clown, to be honest, ”Hearn promised.
