Robert Garcia, current coach of the former world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs), assures that the game plan for the upcoming rematch with the Ukrainian holder of the BF, WBO and WBA titles Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) won't just be about winning by knockout.
“Anthony has advantages in height, reach and strength, but at the same time, we cannot enter the ring with the thought of just winning by knockout. We must be smart to win.
We don't know how Usyk plans to fight. He can come out and do something that will make us box more. Here you never know for sure. But we will be ready for anything Usyk suggests. He is an amazing fighter and champion, I know him personally and I know how much he loves his job. But we are ready to make AJ a three-time world heavyweight champion," Garcia told The Sun.
The first fight of the boxers took place in September 2021 and ended with Usyk's victory by unanimous decision. The second meeting will be held on August 20 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
