Former Undisputed Lightweight Champion George Kambosos commented on his defeat from the new champion Devina Haney.

“It was amazing for the sport,” Kambosos said. “It was amazing for the country. After all, I wanted to pass the best and most difficult tests. I give him credit after his victory today. Give me time and we'll do it again. I need to implement a few things, but I thought the fight was very close. I'm not going to spoil his celebration. Let him rejoice. In November last year, this opportunity was ruined for me, so I will give him a chance and I will be back very soon.”

“Problems at the weigh-in were definitely not a factor. He played his game. He moved. He boxed. He didn't really want to get into a fight, but that was his plan for a fight, so I respect him. I'm going to change a few things and come back at the end of the year. With all due respect to him."

“I took a risk. I fight the best in my weight. After all, I didn't have to fight him. Not many wanted to fight him. But I immediately gave him a chance, so I'm sure we'll do it again."

“I hit with my right hand several times. I worked on the corps, but he had a cunning plan for the fight. He clinched and held a lot and did what he had to do to win. That's the problem. You do what you have to do to win, and today the victory was given to him, but I am sure that all this will change when we enter the ring again. I respect him and I respect boxing. Here you fight the best. Win, lose or draw. That's the whole point. To hell with corrupt judges. I have always been for fighting the best. I gave him a chance and we will do it again."

“We will do it again. Look, I gave him a chance. If I had not given him this chance, he would not have belts now. So, we will repeat all this, ”Kambosos said after the fight.
