George Kambosos (20-0, 10 KOs) and Devin Haney (27-0, 15 KOs) met the light weight limit at the official weigh-in ceremony in Melbourne. It took the Australian two attempts to reach the corresponding weight limit. The bet of the fight, which will be watched live by about 40 thousand fans, will be WBA, WBO, WBC and IBF championship titles.
On the first attempt, Haney showed 135 pounds (61.2 kg) on the scales, Kambosos stood on the scales completely undressed and showed 135.36, that is, 0.36 pounds (160 grams) more. Kambosos returned almost an hour and a half later and showed 134.49 pounds, stating that he deliberately approached the weigh-in with a margin to play on the opponent's nerves, and achieved the prescribed limit by simply going to the toilet.
“He is squeezed out, he is overdried. But I am a real champion, and real champions make weight, ”Haney said on this occasion.
