IBF, WBA and WBO world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) is preparing for a rematch scheduled for July 23 with Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs), whom he deposed from the throne in September last year. Ukrainian promoter Oleksandr Krasyuk shared his thoughts on Usyk’s decision to take this fight amid the Russian invasion of his country.

“The decision to leave Ukraine was extremely difficult. But it is also remarkable what message Alexander can deliver by taking part in the rematch. The chance to declare to the whole world that should unite around Ukraine and stop the war should not be missed. The whole world will watch this revenge," Krasyuk said.

“Alexander fights neither for himself, nor for glory, nor for honor. He fights for the whole country and the whole democratic world," Usyk's promoter added.

We add that recently there was information that the Ukrainian moved his preparatory camp to Poland. However, this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
