Top American UFC lightweight Michael Chandler I am sure that the former interim division champion Tony Ferguson is still a dangerous opponent, despite a series of three defeats.

“Tony has always been a top fighter. It's only been a couple of years since that glorious 12 win streak where he looked unbeatable and could probably even beat Khabib. Many believe that he could then defeat Khabib. Would this happen? We will never know the answer to this question, but I see that he has remained an extremely dangerous opponent who looks great against the best fighters in the division.

I can’t say that this is a step back for me, but this is undoubtedly a duel in which I can prevail. Tony is the perfect opponent to get back on track and have another title run.

I still believe that I will become a UFC champion. I have a few more wins to go and this will be one of them,” Chandler said in an interview with ESPN.

The Chandler-Ferguson fight will take place on May 7 at UFC 274 in Phoenix.
