Ramirez will return to the ring on May 14

Former super middleweight world champion Gilberto Ramirez (43-0, 29 KOs) will return to the ring on May 14 at the Golden Boy Promotions in Ontario. Mexican, currently competing in the light heavyweight division, will cross gloves with a German Dominique Bösel (32-2, 12 KOs).

Ramirez last fought in December, defeating Yunieschi Gonzalez by TKO. The fight became an eliminator for the WBA championship belt, owned by Dmitry Bivol. The fight with the Russian in the near future is unlikely to take place, because in May Bivol will meet with Saul Alvarez.

Recently, the boxer's promoters from Mexico announced the possibility of his fight with Ilunga Makabu, but Zurdo will remain in light heavyweight for now. Boesel won on points against Robin Krasnika in his last appearance in the ring.
