Former world cruiserweight and super heavyweight champion David Haye has repeatedly predicted the loss of the reigning world heavyweight champion in the past Tyson Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs), but he was wrong every time. Before the upcoming battle of the "King of the Gypsies" with Dillian Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs), which is scheduled for April 23, Haye's statements again cause heated discussions.
“The new style of Tyson Fury that we saw in his last two fights with Deontay Wilder is extremely attractive to the fans. I saw those fights in the ringside, it was magical. Tyson was looking for a knockout from the start despite Wilder's aggression," said Haye, who was scheduled to fight Fury in 2013 and 2014 but pulled out twice citing injuries.
“Dillian Whyte needs Fury's offensive strategy, he needs an opponent who hits punch after punch. Fury's style of fighting Wladimir Klitschko would have been a nightmare for White."
“I paired with White when he first started his professional career. He is a born warrior, tough guy. He also has very long arms and I remember hitting me with a left straight. Fury is used to having a longer range, but that may not be his advantage now. If I was bankrupt and I had a chance to bet the last pound, I would bet on White. Crazy things happen at heavyweight and I love White's attitude towards this fight," Haymaker added.
