Velasquez makes first statement since arrest

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquemade his first public address since his arrest.

Recall that in early March, 39-year-old Velasquez opened fire on a suspect in the corruption of his close relative. In doing so, he missed and hit the alleged pedophile's stepfather. The fighter was later arrested on charges of attempted murder.

“My family and I personally will never be able to fully thank everyone who expressed their support. Thank you forever for your support and love. Your selfless gestures and kind words have always given me strength in the darkest of times. This story is complex and progress is slow.

May God give strength to the true victims of this cause to reach the end. Although it is difficult to endure pain, justice will prevail and true healing will begin. I will never stop supporting and loving you all. Thank you for your love," Velasquez tweeted.
