Undefeated Swedish UFC welterweight Khamzat Chimaev admitted that he promised his mother to end his career immediately after winning the championship belt.
“My mother thinks that I become a champion after every fight I win. So I promised her that I would end my career when I became a real champion. So my goal is to become number one and then leave the sport," Chimaev said in an interview with the YouTube channel Smesh Bros.
On the night of April 10 at UFC 273 in Jacksonville, Chimaev will fight against Gilbert Burns.
