Professional boxing is officially returning to Cuba after 60 years thanks to an agreement reached by the Cuban Boxing Federation with Golden Ring Promotions.

In accordance with the agreements reached, Cuban boxers will train in Havana with the support of the state authorities and leave the country to fight. For the past six decades, professional boxing in Cuba has been banned and local athletes, wanting to try their hand at professionalism, were forced to leave their homeland forever.

At the last Olympic Games, Cuba won the medal count of the boxing tournament - the Cubans won 5 medals, including 4 gold.
