The sixth number in the UFC heavyweight division Tom Aspinall is not interested in holding a fight for the interim champion belt. The Briton believes that he has not yet deserved such an opportunity.

“That's not what I'm thinking about at this stage. I think there are many other guys who deserve it more than me - for example, Stipe Miocic or Jon Jones. I just got into the top 10 and I don’t pretend to be anything. Take at least Cyril Gan - he was close to defeating Francis Ngannou. If the people who deserve this opportunity are more than me,” Aspinall said in an interview with CBS Sports.

On March 20, Aspinall defeated Alexander Volkov via submission in the first round at UFC Fight Night 204 in London.

It was previously reported that the UFC could play for a temporary belt in the heavyweight division due to the possible long absence of Francis Ngannou after undergoing knee surgery.
