“I would love to fight the winner of Jermell Charlo vs. Brian Castano II on May 14th. I can be the king of junior middleweight,” the WBO welterweight champion recently said Terence Crawford (38-0.29 KO). Crawford's idea was commented on by his fellow countryman and friend, WBO super featherweight world champion and Rio de Janeiro Olympic medalist Shakur Stevenson (17-0, 9 KOs).
“Crawford vs Charlo for all the super middleweight belts? I know that their relationship is tense, but I will not get into it. Lately, Charlo says he's a puncher, but he'll be surprised by Bud Crawford's strength. I don't see how Crawford can win by knockout in this fight. Bud is his best as a boxer, Charlo had problems even with Tony Harrison. And Bud is at a higher level than Harrison,” said Stevenson, who will face WBC champion Oscar Valdez on April 30 in Las Vegas.
“I saw Crawford knock out heavyweights in sparring. I won’t name names here, but Bud will surprise many with his power in the light middleweight division,” Stevenson added.
