Welterweight Alexis "Lex" Rocha (19-1, 13 KOs) broke and stopped a previously undefeated Blair "Fleur" Cobbs (15-1-1, 10 KOs) in the ninth round in the main event of the evening at the USA Gelen Center in Los Angeles. Rocha was able to send Cobbs to the floor of the ring in the eighth round and achieved a referee stoppage in the ninth round.
Also that evening, in a highly unspectacular bout, WBO welterweight No. 4 Michael "Problem" McKinson (22-0, 2 KOs) defeated Alex Martin (17-4, 6 KOs) via unanimous decision. Judging scores: 99-91, 98-92 and 97-93.
McKinson was originally scheduled to face undefeated WBO No. 1 Virgil Ortiz Jr., but the latter was hospitalized earlier this week with rhabdomyolysis.
Light heavyweight Bektemir "Hooligan" Melikuziev (9-1, 7 KOs) quickly dealt with David Zegarra (34-8, 21 KOs), stopping him in the second round. After a very slow first round, which caused a lot of dissatisfied whistles in the hall, Melikuziev did not waste any more time in the second. Zegarra knelt down, wincing in pain from a precise blow to the torso. The referee ended the count while Zegarra remained on the floor. The time to stop the battle is 0:30.
