Fight between the WBC world middleweight champion Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs) and Jaime Munguia (39-0, 31 KOs) will not take place in the near future. Negotiations between the parties were interrupted due to the fact that the telepartners of the promoters of both boxers could not agree on the broadcast of the fight.
The boxers themselves reached a financial agreement, but the issue of television rights remained unresolved. It is possible that in a few months the American and the Mexican will fight with other opponents. At the same time, Munguya may try to become an official contender for the World Boxing Council belt in the weight category up to 72.5 kg.
It is not yet known who Charlo will fight in this situation, who has also recently been trying to duel with Saul Alvarez. The American is expected to return to the ring in June, otherwise it will mean another year-long break in his career.
