Judge Shelina Brown of the Supreme Court of Santa Clara County (California, USA) denied the former UFC champion Cain Velasquez on bail. The fighter is charged with attempted murder.
Earlier it became known that 39-year-old Velazquez opened fire on a car in which there was a suspect in molesting his close relative. At the same time, the athlete missed and hit the alleged pedophile's stepfather.
“Former UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez has been denied bail. Judge Shelina Brown says "the risk is too great" after considering Velasquez's "reckless" actions. He is due back in court on April 12,” journalist Nolan King tweeted.
Velázquez faces a prison term of 20 years to life in prison if found guilty.
