Former World Super Lightweight Champion Viktor Postol, who will face the unbeaten American prospect next Saturday Gary Antoine Russell commented on the situation with the Russian invasion of his native country and how difficult it is for him to tune in to a duel away from his wife and children.

“The situation in Ukraine is not very good, so I try not to think about it. But it’s impossible not to think about it, because my family is there. I think, I worry, of course, but I try to distract myself, but it's very difficult. Now my family is in a bomb shelter. They sit at home, and when there is a bombing, they hide in basements,” Postol said.

“This is crazy, just crazy. Why it is needed, I don't understand at all. Why does Russia need Ukraine? We used to be friends, now we are at war. I can't really understand why it's needed. Now the main thing for me is to get to Ukraine, in any case I will defend Ukraine and, first of all, my family. I will protect where I live,” Postol said.
