Charlo can get up to 10 years in prison

WBC World Middleweight Champion Jermall Charlo (32-0, 22 KOs) spent the weekend in custody. On Friday, an American was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a family member.

On Monday, the boxer was released on $10,000 bail. The first court hearing in the Charlo case will take place on March 28. According to the materials, the case is related to an incident that was supposed to happen on September 5 last year. Jermall faces 2 to 10 years in prison if found guilty.

Charlo, 31, fought just one fight last year, beating Juan Montiel on points in June. Recently, the name of a boxer from Texas has been actively mentioned as a possible opponent for Saul Alvarez.
