Frank Warren, WBC World Heavyweight Champion Co-Promoter Tyson Fury, commented on his record-breaking bid, which secured him the rights to conduct a mandatory defense of his boxer with Dillian Whyte. On Friday, Warren offered more than $41 million—nearly $9 million more than White's promoter Eddie Hearn.

Negotiations for the fight went on for several months, but the parties could not reach an agreement, which, after several delays, forced the WBC to hold a promotional auction. Now the fight will obviously take place in the UK, in a large stadium.

“We promised to do everything for our boxer and we did it by winning the bid to defend Tyson Fury's WBC heavyweight title against Dillian Whyte. We offered $42 million and it just shows our commitment to the King of the Gypsies,” Warren said in an interview with the Daily Star.

“According to the WBC, this was the highest bid in their history. We support our fighters, and this is another proof of this. We will announce the date and location next week, but it looks like Fury will be returning home to the UK after conquering America."

“The talks are over, the fight is on and Tyson can focus on getting back in the ring. It will be a great fight, I'm sure of it. He must be well prepared for it. It will be a war between the two best British heavyweights. But there will be only one winner. And it will be Tyson Fury."

“We are also happy that Tyson finally got the fight. He fought Deontay Wilder brilliantly in October and had one of the best heavyweight fights of all time. But prior to that, he was out of the ring for a long time due to Covid-19 and all the delays which meant he only had one fight in 20 months. He needs to be active, so he wanted to get back in the ring as soon as possible."

Fury hasn't stepped into the ring since last October when he knocked out Deontay Wilder in their third fight. White has been out since last March, when he stopped Alexander Povetkin in their rematch.
