Fulton and Figueroa to rematch

Stephen Fulton - Brandon Figueroa

Mauricio Suleiman announced that in the spring there will be a rematch between Stephen Fulton (20-0, 8 KOs) and Brandon Figueroa (22-1-1, 17 KOs). The fight will take place in the USA, but the president of the WBC federation has not yet announced the exact date.

The boxers first met in the ring in November. Fulton won by a majority vote of the judges - after twelve interesting and fierce rounds, the judges counted twice 116-112 in favor of the 27-year-old athlete and 114-114. Thus, the Philadelphia boxer unified the WBC and WBO super bantamweight titles.

The remaining two championship belts in this weight category belong to Murodjon Akhmadaliev, who will fight against Marlon Tapales in the next performance in the mandatory title defense. In the second half of the year, a unification duel for the title of absolute world champion between the winners of these two duels may take place.
