The WBA has officially confirmed that Jonathan Guidry (17-0-2, 10 KOs) will become an opponent Trevor Bryan (21-0, 15 KOs) in his defense of the regular heavyweight championship belt. The fight will take place on January 29 in Warren, Ohio.

The World Boxing Association agreed to organize this fight, but set the condition that the winner would have to cross gloves with Daniel Dubois (17-1, 16 KOs), who won the WBA interim belt last year. In the meantime, the Englishman will hold a duel, which is scheduled for March 19.

Until recently, the WBA heavyweight champion was the "champion on vacation" - Manuel Charr. Now a boxer living in Germany has been stripped of this status for failing to complete the visa formalities ahead of his upcoming fight with Bryan.
