Eddie Hearn argues that if Tyson Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) will fight in March with another opponent, except for Dillian Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs), he will have to leave the WBC heavyweight title vacant.
“We have scheduled auctions for January 18. The day before, there will be a meeting with WBC representatives regarding the division of the fee in this fight. Dillian won't give up the fight. A lot is happening behind the scenes right now. If Fury wants to fight another opponent in March, he will have to give up the title,” said the British promoter.
Frank Warren recently announced that Fury would return on March 26 in the UK. Andy Ruiz Jr. and Robert Helenius are among his potential rivals.
However, much depends on the results of the tender on Tuesday, which other promoters may join. The division of the fee, according to the decision of the WBC, is 80 to 20 in favor of Fury.
