George Kambosos (20-0, 10 KOs) announced that he intends to play the next match in May at one of the stadiums in Australia. The WBA, WBO, IBF and WBC lightweight champion of the world does not yet know the name of his opponent.

“[My next fight] will take place in May. May is a great time. Preparation, promotion, everything will be fine. My whole career has been difficult. I have never looked for easy ways for myself. I've always had to work hard to achieve my goals,” Kambosos told Fox Sports.

“We have to announce loudly to the whole of Australia what is happening and how large-scale this fight will be. This will be the biggest fight in Australian history. It will be a stadium fight in Sydney or Melbourne and it will be very cool. I wouldn't be a real fighter for my fans if I told them I was coming back for an easy fight. What for? I am looking for big names, and we are already negotiating with them,” added Kambosos.

The 28-year-old fighter is considering several options, but puts one condition - the fight must take place in front of his fans. In recent weeks, readiness to travel to Australia has been expressed, in particular, by Devin Haney and Vasyl Lomachenko, who may soon be appointed by the WBO leadership as official contenders for the fight with Kambosos.

In November, the Australian boxer sensationally defeated Teofimo Lopez, taking away all the championship belts in the weight category up to 135. Kamposos entered this fight from the position of an official challenger, so there was no clause on revenge in the contract.
