Teddy Atlas suggests that the huge purses could have deprived Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) fighting spirit. The American expert claims that he did not notice the anger characteristic of athletes thirsty for success after being defeated by Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs).
“Joshua has made too much money. He accepted defeat too easily, he was too calm,” said Atlas in his YouTube podcast.
“I believe, perhaps more than anyone else, that there should be a correct attitude towards both the winner and the loser, and I like to see that kind of humility in both cases. But he looks too calm. He looks like someone who has already made too much,” added the ESPN expert.
Anthony Joshua, in his contract for the September fight with Alexander Usyk, guaranteed himself the right to revenge in case of defeat. The second British-Ukrainian confrontation is likely to take place this spring or summer.
