Mungia to face Ballard on February 19

Forme Junior Middleweight Champion Jaime Munguia (37-0, 30 KOs) may return to the ring on 19 February. In his first performance in 2022, the Mexican is about to cross gloves with D'Mitrius Ballard (21-0-1, 13 KOs).

These boxers were supposed to fight this year, but the American is having health problems. Ballard, 28, returned to the ring in November after a nearly two-year hiatus, defeating Paul Valenzuela on points.

In his last two fights, Munguia defeated Gabriel Rosado and Kamil Szeremeta. The Mexican is close to a fight for the WBC middleweight title. Next year he will have the final eliminator for the meeting with the champion Carlos Adames (21-1, 16 KOs).
