Bout of the former interim UFC lightweight champion Dustin Poirier and Nate Diaz could take place on Jan 22 at UFC 270 in Anaheim. This is reported by ESPN journalist Ariel Helwani.

“I have been informed that Poirier and Diaz are ready to fight next month. Both agreed to fight in January,” Helwani tweeted.

Earlier, the fighters had a skirmish on Twitter:

“I will fight Poirier in January. Don't rush this time, little bitch! Now or never,” wrote Diaz.

“I'm ready to fight you this month. I'm serious, bro,” Poirier replied.

Last weekend at UFC 269, Poirier lost by choke hold to the champion in his division, Charles Oliveira. As for Diaz, his last fight was in May, losing to Leon Edwards by unanimous decision.
