WBO and WBC nominate joint mandatory challenger for unified world super bantamweight champion Stephen Fulton (20-0, 8 KOs). In his next fight, the 27-year-old boxer will have to cross gloves with Daniel Roman (29-3-1, 10 KOs).
This decision is the result of recent initiatives by the leaders of the largest sanctioning organizations, who have reached an agreement and jointly determine the timing and applicants for mandatory protection. This was done to make it easier for the reigning world champions to negotiate major battles and, above all, to conduct unification duels.
Fulton defeated Brandon Figueroa on Saturday for his second win this year. The last time Daniel Roman boxed was in May, beating Ricardo Franco on points.
