Tyson Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) got permission from the WBC for voluntary defense of his world heavyweight title. The Briton is expected to return to the ring in the spring, likely in the UK.

Fury's potential rivals include Joe Joyce (13-0, 12 KOs) and Dillian Whyte (28-2, 19 KOs). Joyce is close to becoming the official contender for the WBO championship belt, and Whyte is the owner of the interim WBC championship belt.

Joyce is a boxer with Top Rank, which also represents Fury's interests, so it will be easier for the parties to come to an agreement on this matter. Whyte is on a contract with Eddie Hearn.
