On September 25, Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) made a sensation in the boxing world by taking the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles from Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs). AJ will get a chance to take a revenge from his winner next spring. Usyk assures that he has no intention of making it easy on the Brit like Andy Ruiz Jr. did, who gave up training in favor of partying at night after his win over Joshua.
"I'm not going to celebrate my success like Ruiz," the Ukrainian, who is so far resting with his family after months of hard work in training camp, claims in an interview with the Daily Mail.
Usyk claims that while he is "keeping his finger on the pulse" and has been following Joshua's American expedition in search of a new coach, he does not attach much importance to the issues.
"I've seen the news because we're gathering all the information, but I have no opinion on it because it's Anthony's business - let him do what he wants. Thank God my team is doing well," Usyk said.
The new champion also commented on Tyson Fury's October fight with Deontay Wilder: "I watched that fight, it's no big deal, they just wanted to kill each other."
