Former UFC champion Jon Jones has been expelled from Jackson Wink Gym. The reason was the fighter's latest arrest, with multiple charges pending against him.
Trainer Mike Winkeljohn said in an interview with Ariel Helwani that he had a hard time making the decision, but he personally informed Jones of it. The mentor stated that the fighter needs to stop drinking and solve all his problems in his personal life. The specialist also noted that Johns is capable of coming back and winning the heavyweight belt.
Jones commented on the ban from the gym in his tweet:
"I had a heartbreaking phone conversation with one of my long time coaches last night, it's very hard to lose the support of someone I respect so much. I sincerely thank the other coaches for sticking with me through this battle. Our journey continues."
The 34-year-old fighter later added that he is willing to give up alcohol.
