The WBC has given the teams of Tyson Fury (31-0-1, 22 KOs) and Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) 30 days to agree on a bout for the outright heavyweight title. If the British and Ukrainian fail to sign the fight papers in that time, Fury will be forced to cross gloves with mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte.
The chances of the Briton to fight Usyk are very low. The Ukrainian is bound for a rematch with Anthony Joshua, who has officially activated a second fight clause. The fight will take place next spring.
However, if Joshua refuses a rematch with the Ukrainian in favour of a duel with the winner of the Usyk vs Fury fight, then fans will get a fight for the WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF belts. However, a more likely scenario is that the Englishman will meet Whyte in the first half of next year, provided that 'The Body Snatcher' defeats Otto Wallin in his next fight.
