Eddie Hearn has confirmed that he remains interested in staging a fight between Teofimo Lopez (16-0, 12 KOs) and George Kambosos (19-0, 1 KO). Promoter Triller Fight Club has relinquished the rights to host the fight, saying it has already lost $15 million for the event.
Triller bid $6 million, beating Hearn's bid of $3 million. The rights for the IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC "franchise" lightweight belt fight will likely go to Matchroom Boxing, but that has yet to be confirmed by the IBF.
The Lopez-Kambosos bout could take place in December in the United States. Both boxers will return to the ring after more than a year's layoff.
