The teams of Marco Huck (42-5-1, 28 KOs) and Agit Kabayel (21-0, 13 KOs) have reached an agreement on a European heavyweight title bout. A promoter bid contest scheduled for today has been cancelled. The date of the fight, which will take place in Germany, will be officially confirmed shortly.
The 36-year-old Huck, who was previously world cruiserweight champion, moved up to heavyweight three years ago and last boxed in August last year. Kabayel returned to the ring in June after a year-long break, winning on points over Kevin Johnson.
Previously the EBU heavyweight belt belonged to Joe Joyce, who left the title vacant and is now targeting the WBO belt. The Briton is the official challenger according to this organization.
