Former UFC interim lightweight titleholder Dustin Poirier announced that he has signed a contract to fight current champion Charles Oliveira.
"Signed, sealed, shipped," Poirier tweeted.
ESPN officials later confirmed that the American has signed a deal for the bout. The fight has not yet been officially confirmed, but is expected to take place on Dec. 11 at UFC 269 in Las Vegas.
Oliveira won the vacant title on May 16, knocking out Michael Chandler in the second round. Poirier has two technical knockout victories over Conor McGregor this year, cementing his position as a major title contender.
