The promotion organization representing WBA flyweight champion Artem Dalakyan, Union Boxing won the bidding for its ward's fight against mandatory challenger Luis "Nica" Concepcion. Dmitry Yeliseyev and Yuri Ruban, co-founders of Union Boxing, won the rights to the fight after bidding $301,000 during Monday's bid process via conference call at Zoom.
The amount markedly exceeded the second-highest bid of $171,010 offered by Jose Mohan of D4G Promotions, who was going to host the event in Panama City, Concepcion's hometown.
Instead, Concepcion (39-8, 28 KOs) will likely travel to Ukraine in his attempt to become a full champion after holding the interim flyweight and super flyweight titles. According to the results of the contest Union Boxing intends to hold the fight on November 13, 20 or 27 in Kiev, Ukraine.
According to the contest terms, Dalakyan is entitled to 55% ($165,550) of the amount offered. The remaining 45% ($135,450) will go to Concepcion, who was appointed mandatory challenger following the WBA's decision to abolish his interim titles.
