Joshua-Usyk. Official scorecards

Oleksandr Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) defeated Anthony Joshua (24-2, 21 KOs) by unanimous decision in his fight for the WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. After twelve rounds, the judges scored as follows: Viktor Fesechko (Ukraine) 117-112, Howard Foster (UK) 115-113 and Steve Weisfeld (USA) 116-112.

It should be noted that at the British judge Joshua was leading 4-2 after the first six rounds, Foster gave Joshua the first two rounds. Howard also "comfortably" brought his score to the final twelfth round, before which he had 6-5 in favor of Usyk and if he wished, he could have given the last round to Joshua and set a draw. In this case the Briton would have defended his belts.

Also noteworthy is Fesecko's 10-10 score in the eighth round. Usually on boxing nights in North America, judges try to avoid a 10-10 round score. Apparently, in the realities of British boxing, such an option is allowed, which gives more maneuvering to assess equal, in the judge's opinion, rounds.

In general, we can say that this time the judges' notes were quite adequate reflection of what was going on in the ring, which cannot be said, for example, about the Campbell Hatton vs Sonny Martinez undercard fight, which was very controversially evaluated by referee Marcus McDonnell 58-57 in favour of the local fighter.
