Usyk beats Joshua on points

Former cruiserweight champion Alexander Usyk (19-0, 13 KOs) defeated Anthony Joshua (24-2, 22 KOs) by unanimous decision and captured his IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight belts in the main event of the evening at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London. Towards the end of the twelfth round, Usyk nearly secured a stoppage victory. The scores were: 117-112, 116-112 and 115-113.

There was a rematch clause in the contract for the bout, and Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, said his charge would demand a rematch and would be ready to return to the gym on Monday to begin preparations.
