Joshua-Usyk. Analysis by Teddy Atlas

Famous American coach and commentator Teddy Atlas presents his analysis of today's big fight in London, the clash between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk for the British heavyweight titles, IBF, WBA and WBO. Some interesting remarks from the charismatic Atlas are given below.

"David has defeated Goliath once before (probably referring to Joshua's defeat at the hands of Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019 - ed.), but this time David won't have the slingshot, but his boxing smarts and feet. He'll have to use his agility, he'll have to be elusive, he'll have to outsmart Joshua. He has to move by avoiding Joshua's right hand, while Joshua likes to use his right uppercut. Usyk needs to let him do that, but on his own terms, like Evander Holyfield let "Buster" Douglas do, he parried and then knocked him out. So Usyk needs to use the feint. Joshua will take a shot to the chin and get a counterpunch with his left hand," said Atlas.

"Joshua knows Usyk knows how to win with his feet. He has to get him in the mire, immobilize him. Hitting him with a left straight from top to bottom and using feints himself, using combinations and remembering to regularly hit with his right hand is a great weapon in a fight against a lefty. To hit where Usyk will be, not where he is, which means to be ahead of him. I'm betting on Usyk, but the fight is in London. Usyk may lose by split decision, but I think he's a great champion who always knows how to win and will find a way to win again," added the legendary specialist, known for his collaboration with Mike Tyson, Michael Moorer, Donny Lalonde, Michael Grant, Alexander Povetkin and Usyk's colleague Alexander Gvozdyk.
