Jaime Munguia (37-0, 30 KOs) will not lose his right to participate in the WBC middleweight qualifier despite his team's lack of intention to compete in Friday's scheduled promoter bidding contest to fight Sergiy Derevyanchenko (13-3, 10 KOs). The World Boxing Council will allow the Mexican to fight Gabriel Rosado (26-13-1, 15 KOs) before that fight.

The bout with the Philadelphia boxer will take place at the turn of October and November. If the Mexican wins, the WBC will again set a bidding date for a duel with Derevyanchenko, who could also have another fight in the coming months.

Munguia, who previously held the 69kg championship belt, is ranked number one in the WBC middleweight rankings. The champion of this organization is American Jermall Charlo.
