UFC U.S. middleweight veteran Derek Brunson is confident he can put up a decent fight against champion Israel Adesanya.
On Sept. 4 at UFC Fight Night 191, Brunson defeated Darren Till by choke hold, securing a top-five ranking in the division.
"I take my time and don't want to say much, but I can only promise you'll see a huge difference in the rematch with Adesanya compared to how I did the first fight. The camp for the fight with Till was not what I wanted. I'm much stronger than I showed myself in that fight. I threw a couple of uppercuts, but I can do better in the standup as I saw holes in Till's defense.
"I was injured three weeks before the fight and I wasn't able to work or train hard enough. So there's no doubt in my mind that I'm a threat to Adesanya, both on the feet and on the ground,"Ā BrunsonĀ said.
In November 2018, Adesanya knocked BrunsonĀ outĀ in the first round.
