Taylor-Catterall on December 18 confirmed

Josh Taylor (18-0, 13 KOs) fight against Jack Catterall (26-0, 13 KOs) in Glasgow on December 18 has been officially confirmed. Taylor defeated Jose Ramirez in May to unify the IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC super lightweight belts.

It was previously reported that the bout would take place in the second half of November, but the date was pushed back due to Terence Crawford's scheduled fight with Shawn Porter at the same time. Catterall, 27, will enter this bout as an official contender for the World Boxing Organization belt. The Englishman had his last professional fight last November.

Taylor had hoped to have two more fights this year, but he ended up having just one. It's not out of the question that the 30-year-old Scot will move up to welterweight next year.
