Poirier's trainer: 'Diaz fight will be huge, but the title fight first'

Mike Brown, coach of former UFC interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier, spoke about his fighter's future plans.

"I'm assuming a title fight will be next. I see there's talk of a fight with Diaz - I'm sure the numbers will be huge. They were supposed to meet earlier, but the fight got derailed. That's something everyone will want to see. They might be able to do it at welterweights, no one will have to go through a weight. Kind of a fun fight for the fans. However, I think Dustin needs a title fight first," Brown told MyMMANews.

The champion Charles Oliveira previously confirmed that he will make his first defense in December.
