Anthony Joshua (24-1, 22 KOs) and Alexander Usyk (18-0, 13 KOs) are close to an agreement to organize a fight for the WBO heavyweight title. The fight is likely to take place on 28 August at one of the football stadiums in England.
Eddie Hearn said yesterday that the boxing teams were given an additional two weeks to negotiate. Today, the Briton said that he had several conversations with the promoter of the Ukrainian Alexander Krasyuk, and the parties came close to signing a contract for the fight.
Usyk is the official contender for the belt of the World Boxing Organization. Joshua, in addition to the WBO title, also owns the IBF and WBA championship belts.
