The famous Russian MMA fighter Alexander Emelianenko remembered about tough sparring with his brother Fedor and Roman Zentsov.

“It happened that Fedor threw his gloves down and said: “I won’t fight him anymore.” It didn't work when I switched to speed and started moving around. I don't remember what fight I was preparing him for. He was very overloaded - his arms and legs did not obey, his legs stuck to the tatami. In training, we never felt sorry for each other.

"There was a case when we flew to Holland and got into sparring at the beginning of training with Zentsov. And guys come in, I wave my hand to someone, at this moment Zentsov hits and hits me exactly in the beard. I fall to my knees, get up and dust off my gloves: "It's okay, let's continue." They look at us and say: “The Russians are crazy. They kill each other in training,” Emelianenko said.
