Negotiations on Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter begins

Preliminary negotiations have begun on organizing a fight of WBO welterweight champion Terence Crawford (37-0, 28 KOs) and Shawn Porter (31-3-1, 17 KOs). The fight may take place at the end of June in the United States.

The 33-year-old Porter returned to the ring last August after an almost year-long hiatus and defeated Sebastian Formella on points. In recent years, the Las Vegas fighter has competed exclusively at Premier Boxing Champions evenings, but a potential fight with Crawford will take place in an event hosted by Top Rank.

In his last appearance, Crawford defeated Kell Brook by TKO. The reigning World Boxing Organization champion, in addition to fighting Porter, has also long been a candidate opponent for Manny Pacquiao. However, the duel with the Filipino requires a very large budget, which can be difficult to implement without the full participation of the fans in the stands.
